On my nexus 4 and 7 when I first had them, I typed in boxes email addresses passwords etc for emails websites forums etc
But now a lot of them are out of date and not needed.
Is there a way to stop android doing it?
But some of them I will still need:o

You need to clear Form data and passwords from history.

In the browser setting, there should be an option for clearing history. There should be options on there for form data and passwords.

Thanks Clear History every day Did not see that. Will that stop them all coming back then if I start saving new ones again?

No it didn't they are all still there after clear form data and passwords and then typing into boxes again. Oh dear

Not sure which browser you're using: in Chrome I don't see a "Clear History every day" option.

To get to the options I'm referring to, open Chrome then hit:

Menu
Settings
History
CLEAR BROWSING HISTORY .. (button the bottom of the page)

You then get a pop up listing the different sorts of things you can clear, the bottom two options are Clear passwords and Clear autofill data.

Thanks but doesn't work for everything. When I typed into gmail all the old email addresses I didn't want still appear.

I don't know what you are seeing.

What I get in Gmail on my Droid Maxx when I type an e-mail is matches for the string from the Contacts stored on my phone.

To get rid of them as suggestions ... delete the contact.
