Stop Cache from filling up

Hi Everyone!
I have a Samsung S4 and it seems like with a couple hours of use with my YouTube app the audio is not synced with the video. I have done some research and people have told me to clear out my cache by rebooting my phone and going into the bootloader etc.
I am just wondering if there is a way for the cache to stop happening so I don't have to do this so often?
It was working okay at one time.
by the way I am running Android Lollipop (5.0.1)

You're mixing up two different 'cache' situations. They are separate and independent from each other. One is the system cache partition, the other is the Youtube app cache. The system cache requires you to boot your S4 into Recovery Mode and generally you just want to leave it as is unless there's actually a operating system issue you're trying to troubleshoot. What you're referring to is clearing the Youtube app cache, and it doesn't require rebooting your phone. Just go into your Settings >> Application manager, scroll down to YouTube, tap the 'Force stop' button, and then tap the 'Clear cache' button. As for preventing apps from using their caches, just stop worrying about it. Apps use a cache as a storage/dumping place for temporary files they need to function.

thanks for the reply!
I have searched on several forums and some did say to clear the YouTube cache which I have done but that did not help.
One suggestion was to boot into the recovery mode and clear the cache there. Which does help and I have been doing that for the past while but I have to do that frequently.
