Root Stop play store from updating

Is it possible to prevent the play store from updating? I love the blacked out version but it's updating to the regular version which looks horrible. How can I go about stopping the update in the future?
 
With titanium backup pro (maybe free version also) you can long press on the app then select, detach from market.

It may not always work, but you can try it. Could do the trick.
 
Thanks guys. Does anyone know of a guide that I could read and maybe learn how to do this?


I would absolutely love to invert everything on my phone. I just like how it looks when everything is black and white.

Every time I try to download an inverted app from their official app, it would crash. I even clear data like they said and it would still crash. So I went back to what I use to do by going to their website. Wasted a dollar though, oh well it was donation.

yeah i notice it keeps crashing for me also, I'm thinking their last update was to work for JB and now its not working on ICS
 
I tried all sorts of things and it still updates, I tried un-attaching it from market via tibu, even deleted the Google play services app, after flashing the older black version via cwm and it still updates almost immediately every time. I just deal with it lol
 
Have you tried this?

open playstore
Press your phones " Menu " button
Select " Settings " from menu (the wrench icon)
Select " Auto-update "
Select and high light " Do not auto-update " button
press " back " button till you return to home screen and reboot
when ever asked to update in the future choose NO

I wanna say that only works with auto updating the apps you download from the play store. Because that's the first thing I disable whenever I open a play store on any new phone I set up just in case the updates are garbage, but it still auto updates the play store itself.
 
so the only reason to no upgrade the play store is because it looks terrible? that's just not fair haha. It's kinda like how people hate on windows 8 cause they changed how it looks from windows 7 and people aren't used to it and they automatically say it's garbage, even though in my opinion it's faster and more reliable...same thing for the play store, might not have the nice color scheme or layout, but there might be something going on under the hood that makes it better...things change.
