Help Stop ringing

There are times when my phone rings when I don't want it to (i.e. in a meeting). Is there a way to silence that ring immediately? I can't seem to silence my voicemail ringer until it plays the entire ringtone.

Welcome to Android Forums. I haven't used the Epic, but on all of my other devices if I hit the volume button once it would silence the ringer. I'll also give you an AF hint too. Flagging your post as Tip makes folks think your giving a tip, not asking. You end up with people with the same problem looking at your thread instead of folks that may be able to help.

Hitting the power button seems to work for me. Stops the ringing, but then you still have the option to accept/reject the call on the screen.

You should have a flip setting on the phone too under sound in settings where you can turn the phone on its face to go right to silent.

This would be great but I don't see a setting for that under sounds. Would it be somewhere else?

edit: never mind, found it under motion settings and already had it checked, never knew it was there! Thanks for the tip!!

There is also an app from Market called Mute that will silence everything which is helpful when you want no noises at all. I put it on my Homepage for easy access during meetings and church.
