Stop Wallpaper Zooming

Hi All

I just got an android phone and I have a little problem.

I got a picture I want to use as a wallpaper and I cut it to the right resolution, but when I assign it to be my wallpaper, the phone zooms in on it alot... So it looks bad and doesnt show the whole picture...

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks

One other thing to keep in mind, if you don't know - Android phone wallpapers should generally be the same height as you phone's screen resolution, but twice the screens width to allow for scrolling across multiple screens. So for example, if your screen resolution is 480w x 800h you'll want to make your wallpaper 960w x 800h. Hope that helps.

Ah ok... My screen resolution is small like: 240x320 which is exactly what I made the pictures...

So your saying I should get a landscape picture and edit it to 320h x 480w?

Yes I think that should work - although, that's a screen size I've not made wallpapers for, so I'm not positive. But if nothing else it gets you close to the right size/aspect ratio, and if it's still not quite right, than a wallpaper app such as "wallpaper wizardrii" mentioned above or "wallpaper set and save" should do the trick.

I tried the above but it still just randomly zoomed in on the picture. Luckily this time I left the resolution of the picture really high and just made the dimensions 320h x 480w so it still looks nice even zoomed in... But Im still missing half the picture...

Just tried that wizard app... And it works brilliantly.... I wonder why the default doesnt?

Now I just need to find some landscape pictures with the focus point mainly in the middle lol.

Yes, that is usually the case, unless you go with abstract or repeating pattern type of backgrounds. I'm wondering if your results would be better or worse if you framed the picture in portrait mode.

I think there's a way to load both a portrait and a landscape version of the pic if you package the background in a theme app. But then you have to change the whole theme, not just the wallpaper (I think - I'm still in learning mode, too ).

Just curious, are you running GO Launcher? I had the zoom issue while using it, but temporarily going back to stock launcher let me set wallpaper properly.

I find Nova Launcher perfect but then I only ever use portrait pics (so the same pic is on every screen...)
But I'm sure it would work well with scrollable wallpapers :thumbsupdroid:
