how can i stop programs from auto loading, i currently use an app killer to shut down all unused apps to try to increase battery life. after about tem to tweenty minutes the apps are back running again

Try Gemini App Manager.

It gives you very detailed control over applications. It will show allow you to disable specific events that may trigger an app to start. It's by far the most powerful that I have seen. However, you have to ROOT your phone.

Yeah, maybe true. But from what I understand Gemini App manager isn't "killing" the task, it's just changing the permissions that allow it to autorun. It seems like a totally different approach than killing tasks once they run. It is a preventative approach.

That does sound like a good idea. However, some apps do need to autorun to function correctly. If you read the info on the RUNNING APPS page on your phone, it says it needs to be running in the background to work properly.

But as for saving battery life, it will not. It might pick up the pace a small bit on your phone, but the battery life will not be noticeable unless you are using all 1 gig of your RAM.
