So, I have a Verizon S4 running KitKat unrooted. When I look at my storage I notice that I have 9.11 GB of Miscellaneous files. What are these files and is there any way I can get rid of some or move them to my micro SD card?

9.11GB of Miscellaneous files would mean that your entire freespace on the phone is taken up by those files. If you touch, "Misc.", it should show you which files are stored there, (unless this feature has been disabled by your firmware). In my case, my, "Misc.", file is only 767MB and contains the data for my apps.
