storage issues on samsung mini s3, clearing cache and data

Hi

I have an samsung mini s3

I have alot of trouble downloading / updating apps from google play store as it always tells me I have insufficient storage available even though when I look on my storage I have over 1gb on my sd card and over 600mb on my phone storage.

Will clearing cache and data help?

My gallery where I have all my photos says it has 190mb cache.. shall I clear that or will it delete all my photos??

You have 600MB of space to download files - that's not much. Move all apps that will move to the SD card (Link2SD is free at the Play store). Delete anything you don't need immediately available (like back all those photos up to your computer, back them up to the SD card, then delete them from main storage.)
