Hey guys. I'm pretty new to Android App development although I am not new to the Java language. I figured since I was fluent with Java though, I'd give this a try. I'm running into a little bit of confusion in terms of "storing" data that has to do with my app.
I've done research but haven't been able to find a clear-cut answer. My app is going to be a multiplayer-type game. It's going to need to remotely store usernames, scores, and data for the game itself. All devices are going to need access to this data and it all has to be consistent.
SQLite Databases are local databases, correct? So this wouldn't be the road that I want to take?
I've worked with databases before and know how to interact with them via Java, I'm just not sure how to do this remotely through an app. Will I have to set up some type of server of my own, and if so, could anybody give me some advice to get me started?
Appreciate any help.
