Storage question

Ubizmo

Newbie
I have a Samsung Galaxy Blaze and I'm fairly new to Android. I'm using a 16 GB micro sd card, on which I've put about a gig of music so far. I notice, however, that photos, podcasts, etc, don't get saved to the card but to the limited internal USB storage. Why is this and how can I change it?

you can copy and paste all your images and music (PC to Phone) by Settings>Wireless and Settings>USB Settings>Mass Storage
and then you can connect it to your PC via USB and then there'll be a pop up on your phone notifying to connect it to the pc.. press it.
you'll find your Phone and SD Card's memory on your My Computer eventually :D

Thanks for the reply, but I think I didn't make my question clear. I don't have a problem transferring music to the SD card. My question is about how things get stored from the OS itself.

For example, if I take a photo, that file is stored in a directory called /mnt/sdcard/DCIM. That directory is not on the 16 GB SD card that I bought. It's part of some sort of internal drive that has a 1.4 GB capacity. When I download a podcast, it also goes to this 1.4 GB internal drive. Downloaded Kindle books also end up there.

So my question is, is there a way to get these apps/processes to save things to the "external" SD card, i.e., the 16 GB one that I bought.

On my BB 9900, for example (and other BBs I've owned), I get to choose whether things are stored in "device memory" or on the SD card. Is this not possible in Android? I don't see any setting for it. If so, does that mean that only files transferred from PC end up on the 16 GB SD card?
