Storage space

I am likely to upgrade from an S3 to an S5 in the coming weeks. I have just seen the phone in the stores for the first time, but these are of course all running in retail demo mode with loads of extra downloaded apps. Please can somebody advise how much available storage space the phone comes with out of the box (preferably an unbranded one with no operator bloatware). I will be using the SD card slot, so it isn't a huge issue, but it would be good to know anyway.

Thanks.

A 16GB Samsung Galaxy S5 will only give you half as available storage

Be aware Google has changed the way sd cards can be used in android 4.4. see here

There is a workaround, but root is required and the only current root that is available trips Knox.

Knox info:
Samsung Knox is a security tool installed on the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3, which will show if a user roots the device and trigger a Knox Warranty Void counter on the device that Samsung can use to decline any repairs on the device. For users concerned with this it may be worth waiting for a root tool that does not trip the Knox warranty status. We saw a Galaxy Note 3 root tool arrive that did not trip the Knox warranty void flags, but it’s not clear if that is still possible on the Galaxy S5 or when it would come.

The 32gb S5 is supposed to be available at a later date.
