Straight Talk FTW, why... would you bother with anything else... ??

I've been with Straight Talk for 6 mo. now (sure doesn't feel like that short of time) and I absolutely LOVE it. Today I went with dad to get his early Xmas gift (note 2) and I was absolutely laughing my ass off inside because of how much @#$%ing bull shit people put up with these days... Upgrade fee wat? Figure out my bill wat? LMAO!! wow... Christ. If the only sacrifice I have to give up is 4G I have no regrets whatsoever. (4G under Sprint was absolute garbage anyway...)

Can you imagine what would happen to the major 3 garbage providers if everyone went to Straight Talk. They'd be FORCED to give up all this bull @#$%ing shit tactics that made me find this great sanctuary.

Lastly, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Straight Talk for letting me be part of your great service.

Im okay with giving up 4G when HSPA+ is around 12Mbps. That's faster than any type of 3G I've ever seen. Die hard ST fan myself.

99% of most ST complaints are from people that cannot read and understand the TOS and want to use up 75 GB per month watching movies and listening to music on their "phone". Rant over

Exactly. I've used a constent 3gigs a month, which I feel is normal "Standard" use, and I've had no problems. Yeah I don't stream music or movies which is why I said standard use. It's a phone, not a tv. The people that complain are dumb and ignorant. They can't read and they post up threads like "Straight Talk cut my service off for tethering too much" "They suck". Really? Cause your doing something your NOT supposed to and it's THEIR fault. Gtfo. I hate dumb people. End rant also. :D

+1 for Straight Talk! Very happy with it.

Although, we can't complain TOO much about AT&T or T-Mobile, since they allow us on their towers with ST. ;)

I find it hilarious that they don't have a problem with us essentially ripping them off. They are kinda idiots to allow a cheaper service on their lines when they could very well force us to be on their overpriced fail networks or forced to go to another over priced fail network...

Again, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ST!

The same people(or descendants of) those who got in trouble when the downloading copyrighted multimedia craze initially exploded years ago.
They would whine on boards for help re the injustices against them for being poor.
I always offered to help without fail,"I know what it feels to go hungry, so just give me a call the next time you're busted for downloading food without having paid for it."

Off i love t mobile mainly because their data speeds own everything else out there. With the exception of Verizon in prefect coverage. But their coverage is lacking which is why people generally complain where as att has the coverage but has slower data speeds.

And I'm thinking of dropping St and going straight to t mobile. St doesn't allow full strength of their data speeds from the att and t mobile towers. I learned this after a side by side with someone I work with that has t mobile and is pulling 15mbps and I'm only getting about 7. So I can get the monthly 4g plan for either 30 or 60 and get the full data speeds. Or the value plans which has better options to choose from but you gotta sign a contract. Idk. I do I'm gonna leave st.

If you ask me, T-Mobiles $30 month unlimited data and text plan would be the way to go.

As long as I was using a nexus so I know id get developer support.;)

I've always been interested in the prepaid market, but haven't made the jump

That's what I'm gonna try out. I hope I can make the 100 minutes work. Gonna try the whole g voice thing but i haven't learned much about it yet. Regardless for that price and the data amount you get plus unlimited texts, I'll find a way to make it work.

Google Voice still uses your VOICE minutes. It is NOT VOIP. It uses a few bytes of DATA to set up the call, but the call itself is still over VOICE minutes.

However, you can install GrooVeIP app (try the free version as a test), which DOES send your call over DATA as VOIP using Google Voice.

Yeah I've played with it before briefly but didn't delve into it to learn the ins and outs.

So can you just not use Groveip by itself without g voice? Why do you have to use both?

GoogleVoice has three main uses.

First, as a kick butt voicemail system (including a decent voice to text email of the voicemail).

Secondly, as a kick butt forwarding system (incoming calls can ring multiple phones, home, work, cell, etc).

Both of the above revolve using standard landlines and/or cell phone.

Third use is to make calls without a phone at all (Skype does same thing). You can call using GMail, GoogleChat, GoogleTalk, etc... Well, that's what GrooVeIP does... acts like a GoogleChat emulator to allow you to make outgoing/incoming calls over the internet.

Want to blow your mind? Go buy an ObiHai box. It connects to your internet at home and signs into GoogleVoice automatically as a GoogleChat emulating client. The box has a phone jack to plug you home phone into. Now you have a 100% VOIP home phone that costs you exactly ZERO dollars a month. MagicJack/Ooma and the like all have annual fees. This is FREE and does all the same stuff.

Thank you Google Voice!

I had them. They're horrible. The price is awesome and that's the only reason people talk so highly of them.

Have fun when your phone is bricked for using their "unlimited" data. Not to mention when I ask for help on the phone...I get broken english. Ugh.

I'll never go back.

This is the type of comments that give carriers a bad name.

Just saying................

Not to long ago my shitty home internet went down. Probably shouldn't say this, but I found a tether app and used ST's service temporarily. I forgot to shut down my pc and blew threw a lot of data. I do ALOT of video podcasting. Long story short it got me though the outage with no problems and no interruptions. The only odd thing is I guess after 5gb the phone (or service) has disabled my data? It's not been a month yet though. My phone has been having some jealousy issues so I think I need to reformat and that will take car of it. It's just having to start over makes me die inside a lot...
