Straight Talk in Marshfield, WI and rural WI

I am currently residing in Marshfield, WI 54449. I am considering getting the Nexus 5 and activating it on ST. I wanted to know what users experience is in this area. What is your device, speeds, coverage, any other details.

ST Reps say it should work in this area, but I would like to verify with actual users.

I am currently using Boost, and I only have coverage in more populated areas and near highways. I will be traveling around the state, and I need to know if ST's ATT coverage is any good in rural areas. 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE ?

Well, not sure how many folks on here might see this and respond. In the meantime you can check the AT&T coverage map at: AT&T Maps - Wireless Coverage Map for Voice and Data Coverage from AT&T

When I compare what the map says to what I actually get, my experience has been what they say is "moderate" is pretty weak or maybe not usable. What they say is "good" is what I'd call moderate. Above that it's usually good or great. Make sure you check the data and voice maps. The data map appears to be somewhat spotty with LTE, 3G and 2G showing up.

It looks like to the south there's a wildlife area with no coverage at all.

Yes, I have looked at the map and the coverage looks good, but I still thought it best to see what the users are experiencing in WI.

Verizon is always the better network to be on.

Sprint appears to have 4g lte in town Marshfield, WI but now the whole rural areas (Virigin or Boost Mobile etc.) also. http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?

I would only go with sprint if your a data hog and do stuff like tethering and netflix over the 2.5 gig threshold. And you dont mind not having service out of town in rural areas.

Otherwise verizon ... also checkout page plus https://www.pagepluscellular.com ... they have a good plan for $30 a month if you only need 500 megabytes a month on the verizon network.

But as I mentioned in the OP, I want to use a Nexus 5, which is not going to happen on Verizon... From what i have learned, a Playstore Nexus 5 will work on the ST network. Other mvnos YMMV.

I am more curious about Staight Talk in WI and coverage in rural areas...
