Straight talk unlimited = limited

I recently found out why I have horrible internet speeds:confused:. Straight talk throttles you to 2g speeds:mad: - they might be fast enough for a snail:thumbdown:, but if I need to check something on Google Now, it takes an entire 5 minutes... Is there any other gsm carrier that offers unlimited but does not lie about throttling??? I need fast internet...:banghead:

Straight Talk gives you LTE speed for the first 2.5GB/month, then throttles you. It's not unlimited, it's limited to 2.5GB/month at full speed. (It says so in their TOS.)

Most carriers do the same thing. Unlimited full speed is pretty much a thing of the past.

T-Mobile is the only gsm carrier to offer truly unlimited data without throttling either on their 70 dollar prepaid plan or 70 dollar postpaid plan. However they do not give you unlimited tethering, only 2.5gb.

I called T-Mobile about their 70$ plan for both prepaid and postpaid... The paperwork I got in the mail said in the fine print that it's 5gb at 4g then throttled to 2g speed. Is there no way in the world that I can actually get real unlimited? I'm on the road at lot and I can't rely on hotspots all the time.

I think the paperwork is incorrect because I know of at least one member on here that easily is over 10gb a month on the $70 prepaid plan without throttling. The only plan in aware of with a 5gb cap is the 30 dollar plan. There are a couple others on the postpaid plan on here that average over 20gb.

Straight Talk is known for slowing peoples data speeds, and even stopping peoples data. In fact they are being sued for reducing/cutting off data speeds:

That article is from August, since then they have clarified that you get 2.5GB of data before being throttled, as Rukbat mentioned.

6 months ago t mobile changed its $70 plan, it used to be 5GB then throttled but they have gone to fully unlimited.
Actually that might even have been more then 6 months ago now.
