strange 4.3 issue - driving me nuts!

My daughter and I both upgraded to 4.3 tonight - she OTA and me by KIES. So far everything seems OK but won't know until I]ve lived with it for a few days.

However we both keep getting a list of about a dozen 'downloaded' files appearing in the notification bar. Files such as

Every time I click 'Clear' they reappear. My daughters list of files is different but the same thing happens when she clear them.

If I try to view any of the files they cannot be found.

Anyone seen this and know how to fix?

No I didn't. However problem seems to have gone away after I went into the download manager app and cleared data and forced it to close.

New problem now though. After I left phone for about half an hour couldn't get phone out of sleep. Had to hold power button until it re booted!

Bah!

There are a couple threads in the forum if you scroll down a bit from this post describing that exact issue. Hopefully Samsung issues a fix soon.

Exact same as with custom roms, when upgrading to a new android version, its best to do a clean install (factory reset)
I remember the problems everyone was having when official Jellybean came out for the s3
I might actually check out this update. Its been a while since i used Samsung firmware and im wondering if its got any less laggy and sticky....

Its more that that. People who have done factory resets are having the same issues. Its a bad update. A fix from Samsung will be forthcoming.

Apparently the update had some issues. Fortunately I'm on AOSP and I probably won't bother coming back to Samsung firmwares for a while. By the way, OP, you might either flash back to previous version or wait for a forthcoming update.

Read my mind! Phone has deteriorated during the evening to become almost unusable.

Just done a thorough clean format and now re installing the last 4.1.2 official ROM.

Will just have to wait until Samsung fix this mess.

So is this an official Kies/OTA update then?
Im same as s
Sherlock, id leave samsung software behind tbh if this is what theyre pushing out to unbranded phones

It's an update that should never have been released, I've read people are getting along just fine with 4.3 but the majority seem not to judging by the multiple threads I've seen here.

I'm lucky that as I updated my Nexus 5 arrived because I was majorly annoyed by the lock screen wake issue. Unfortunately a quick fix may not happen :( Hope it does get sorted soon though as it's souring a very decent capable phone.
