Apps Strange gridview problem

Hi folks,

I've been trying out Android today and tested a couple of programs (helloworld and gridview), I had trouble getting gridview to work based on google's example here, eventually I got it working by looking at someone's example here (http://androidforums.com/developer-101/156789-gridview-tutorial-error.html), why is that the codes are so different yet I thought Google's example was expected to work straight away?

Secondly, I tried to change the sample images supplied (dog pictures) for the gridview application but the same dogs still comes up.

Well... For me, the example from Goolgle working straight out of the box, so I guess you did something wrong somewhere. Why didn't it work? What errors did you get?

And as your pictures doesn't change even though you try, this just points at that you are forgetting something somewhere. Where are you changing them? Just the files? The references or ?
