Strange Icon in Status Bar

Hi I have an HTC Incredible 4G LTE....it just updated its software and now there is a strange symbol in the status
bar....can someone tell me what it means? Thanks
It's a script looking "N" inside a white box (its not allowing me to post a picture)

Glad to have you here, and posting a picture cannot be done on your first post, you should be able to now though. And anyhow, have you seen if it is an app that was recently updated, settings were maybe changed, and that is what is causing it?

You might have set your phone's NFC ... have look at Settings, More, ...

If that is what you are seeing, that is what Harry2 is referring to.

It's displaying that your NFC is turned on, meaning data is exchanged when you touch your phone to someone else's. Go to settings > more to turn it off and the icon will go away.
