given how custom it is, i have absolutely zero idea. whenever i see a 'spark' i expect battery charge status/low battery level/status is charging. it kinda reminds me of the non-functional 'fast charge' tile in a CyanogenMod quick-settings toggle, but i never did get it to work.

That's exactly what it was mate. I knew the icon so uninstalled quick boot (dont use it anuway). The icon persisted but did nothing. Dirty Flashed an update to my rom and it's gone ☺
Seems I was messing with Rom settings drunk and added it.
Gonna look for the setting and see if I can add something useful now.
You should see the length of G+ it took to get to the bottom of it lol. Even the head rom dev was stumped.
