Help Strange internet problems...

Recently, over the past week or two, I have notice that many internet apps are struggling to start up. For example:

Facebook takes forever before the feed page shows up.
My scrollable news widget takes forever to refresh when I tap the refresh button.
Google Reader takes forever to show feeds initially.
Chrome takes forever to show the first page on startup, even when it's only the bookmarks page.

The list goes on. All the apps in question start up instantly, just take an age to show any content.

Not only that but after turning on the N7, the wi-fi icon takes forever to turn blue as if it's waiting for the connection. Same when turning airplane mode off.

Once all those apps actually start showing content, then everything happens as normal. Reader feeds come up instantly, facebook pages come up instantly, web pages in Chrome come up instantly. It's just that initial startup.

I've had my N7 for a little over 3 months and I have not experienced any of these tablet symptoms that you have had. Have you run a malware/antivirus check on your N7? Sometimes, if your N7 is trying to connect to a really poor WiFi connection, it starts to act a tad weird. But other than that, Facebook and Chrome have been acting just fine.

Is it all apps or just internet based ones?
There is a post on here somewhere (i am just finishing lunch and can't find it when i need it) stating that if you go under 3Gb of memory the N7 starts slowing down. It had a link to XDA about it. I did find mine slow down when i reached this point and the only way to fix is a factory reset as deleting apps didn't work. May be worth checking how much memory you have left.
If i can find the post later i will attach the link.

I have done malware checks and nothing seem amiss there.

It doesn't seem as snappy generally but especially internet apps. Games and things run normally.

But since you mention it, last night I removed a load of stuff, including some large games such as Dark Knight Rises.
Before removing them I was down to just over 3GB space left and now I have around 6.5GB left so I will see how things go over the day.

Had a good clear out of apps and games I don't want and this Nexus 7 is transformed!!

Not only are ALL the internet app related problems that I mentioned completely gone but the Nexus as a whole is running much smoother and faster.
I hadn't realised just how much it had slowed over time!

It's pretty bad that it slows down as 3GB is still a decent amount of free space.
Though I imagine it has more to do with the amount of apps installed, especially if they are all connecting to the internet for various reasons.

Shouldn't be a problem in future though. It was the big action games taking up most of the space and I have found I prefer to play such games on the PS3 and keep the N7 for more touch-friendly, simple games for which I now have tons of free space :)
