Help Strange news ticker suddenly on my lockscreen

A few weeks ago, I noticed that a news ticker had been added to my lockscreen. Meaning that when I open my phone, rather than seeing a blue lockscreen with just the time, I now see a page full of news. There is a little widget/icon thingy at the top of the news articles that looks like some kind of casino game... it's a round orange/red icon with a spinning arrow in the middle.

I've tried going to Settings-Lockscreen, and Settings-Security. I have the CM Security app and have run that several times. Nothing has changed. I can't get it to go away.

First, get rid of everything from Cheetah Mobile. It's essentially Chinese spyware masquerading as a useful app. That may fix your problem right there. If not, try booting into safe mode to see if it shows up.

Besides CM Security, you using anything by GO or TouchPal or 360(Qihoo) or DU(Baidu)? Those are also known Chinese adware/spyware things, that could possibly be doing it.
