Help Strange phone/screen freezing issue

I recently was transferring some FLAC audio files from my PC to the "Music" folder on my AT&T LG G2 when the phone's screen turned black and the whole phone froze (I had the phone connected with a USB cable and was using the MTP file transfer setting.) I restarted the phone and it would start up fine, but after about 30-45 seconds the same thing would happen. I wiped the phone/did a factory reset and everything was working just fine, until I tried to transfer some different audio files. Once again the same issue occurred. Has anyone had a similar issue? At this point I'm afraid to transfer anything to my phone, especially audio files.

I was using the USB cable for my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition, which also has been seriously chewed up by my cat. It charges just fine though lol. So you think a cable could really cause such a serious problem?

I encountered the same problem today, tried to copy flac files to my G2 over wifi using the wireless storage mode. Exact same thing happened like what the op described - the copy operation failed at one of the files, after that the phone was dead. I could restart it by holding the power button, but after starting up it froze again after few secs. It remained in this broken state until I did a factory hard reset.

After the reset I tried again copying the same flac files over usb connection. Same thing happened - phone became unusable until hard reset.

The problem apparently isn't related to a faulty usb cable. Imo this is a software bug, because it only happens with one of the files on that particular album. I can copy anything to the phone without triggering this except that file.

If anyone is interested in testing this I can upload it somewhere..
