Help Strange Rotation Sensor behavior

RickyMs

Lurker

No problem when rotating/moving the phone, but after I stop the rotation, it jumps position... I don't know which sensor is causing this problem.

Really annoying when watching 360 videos with headset on, since it changes position as soon as I stop moving my head.

Is there any way to fix it?

[EDIT] I meant the rotation of the VR related sensors, not the screen rotation.

have you tried rebooting the phone? maybe wipe cache for the gear vr app. you are using the gear vr headset right?

Thanks for the response.
Yeah, tired to reboot but nothing happened.
Also tried to calibrate.
I'm having this issue with any VR/AR application (like the one of the video).
I'm using a random VR Headset.

What actual VR headset is it?
I use what's basically a Google Cardboard. And that works no problems with Samsung phones.

There's no brand on it, bought it on Amazon and it's removed now... Btw the VR Headset is not the problem.

The main problem that crazy spin when I stop moving the phone.

For example: I use an app called "Sky Map" that make me recognize the constellations. When I move the phone it's ok, but after I stop, it spins to another random position.

Tried to explain the problem on the video, added the text "Moving Phone" to help you recognize when I'm moving it and when I'm not.

So it might be a hardware and/or software problem with the phone itself that Samsung needs to fix. Can't suggest anything else, given what I've read and seen. I've got two Samsung phones here, S7 and Note20 Ultra, and VR is no problem with both of them.

I still don't know anything about the OPs headset of course. Like is it ACTIVE, like a Gear VR and with it's own displays, processing, and connects to the phone, or PASSIVE, like a Google Cardboard, that relies totally on the phone for all VR display and processing.

FWIW the VR headset I use is completely passive, it's only fabric covered cardboard with two lenses, and I slot the phone in it.
