Strange text input problem

Got my S3 (UK T-Mobile stock firmware Android 4.0.4) a few days ago and I'm having a lot of problems inputting text. It seems to happen when I want to input text in a box which already has text in it - for example if I'm quoting someone on a forum, replying to someone on youtube or twitter where their @username is entered at the start or even if I start typing on a text box, click off it and back into it.

I'll start typing and for a few words everything will be fine. Then on the third word or so as soon as I press space or choose the correct predictive text option, that word will 'jump' to near the start of the block of text and overwrite what is there. The uncorrected word will still be at the end of the text.

So if I start typing like this

[.quote]This is my opinion[./quote]
Well I think your

And add "oponion is wrong"

I'lll get

[.quoopinion is wrongte]This is my opinion[./quote]
Well I think your oponion

It makes it pretty much impossible to use for posting on forums etc. I've tried swiftkey and stock text input, Chrome and stock browser and it's exactly the same. Any ideas please?

Do you not get a lil blue arrow when you tap on the screen where you want to type, it's a marker, just tap on it and drag it to where you want your text to start.

Also, as it's new, try updating firmware and a reboot

Thanks for the reply! Seems like it's a swiftkey issue. Although uninstalling Swiftkey didn't fix it, uninstalling and then rebooting did. Putting Swiftkey back on meant it started happening again. I'll see if I can raise it with SwiftKey's dev.
