Strange things happening to my Galaxy Mini

I have virtually deleted all my text messages and yet I have a message coming up telling me the message capacity is full and is rejecting incoming message and shows a white file symbol at the top of the front screen.

Together with that I have got a red file symbol next to it telling me my memory is full! I have hardly got anything on my phone. A few apps but have been through and tried to delete/clear cache etc but it has not made any difference. Tried turning it off and on but now both symbols are showing! Anyone had same problem or got any suggestions?

Just go to stock recovery by pressing power+home button.Then wipe data/factory reset your phone and simply reboot.This should work.Otherwise reflash your firmware.

I am no techie but if I do this factory reset surely it will wipe everything I have saved like contacts, apps etc?

Ya sure.Before doing this backup your contacts.Also don't forget to backup your apps by astro file manager.Factory reset will totally wipe all data on your phone(not SD CARD).Just try it
