Help Strange WiFi problem

Every once in a while, when I turn the wifi on in my phone, it will see my network and supposedly connect, but the icon shows up as just the dot with no little wifi bars above it. When you look at the wifi settings, it says that the signal strength is excellent, but the connection speed is -1 MBPS. And of course, the internet doesn't work. It's like the wifi never really turns on, except it must be on to some extent because it will show a list of available networks. A reboot seems to solve the problem.

Then the other day, it seemed to do the same thing with the cellular radio. I had my phone in flight mode for a while (I sometimes have to work in areas sensitive to RF interference) and when I brought it out of flight mode it said there was no network connection. Anyone else have this problem? I'm hoping it's a software problem that can be fixed because I've had the phone longer than 30 days. In both cases the problem can be fixed by restarting the phone.

Yeah, it has to do with the software. I didn't realize this until you mentioned it, but maybe the WiFi radio is also bugged out. What you'll see when the CDMA radio infinite loops (or so I assume it does) is the signal bars will freeze, and if you check your actual signal strength it will sit at -120 dBm. The best thing you can do right now is monitor it using something like Signal Notification by Logic Monkey in the Play Store. That's what I have to do.

Same thing happens to me sometimes, if I leave wifi on during sleep. (I've taken to turning it off first). Connects, but only shows a dot and -1. I love the phone, but it certainly has some quirks.

Has anyone had any luck swapping out their phone with a new one and having the problems go away? I might try that next
