Help strange

while sending a text msg and not paying much attn to what i was doing, i glanced at my phone and the keyboard completely changed to one with directional arrows, cut, copy, paste, and other assorted buttons. by the time i grabbed my camera to take a pic, it was gone. anyone know what this was. i cant duplicate it

It's a swype function keyboard. Swipe from the swype key (lower left) over to the SYM key. To go back, press the ABC key.
