streetview problem

i installed the beta version of Google maps but the street view is not working. i simply cannot select the person icon it is light grey all the time. even in known places. do i have to zoom in fully before i can select the streetview? cheers

You have to search a location & select.... Have a look at Maps, Help, Street View

Download Street View from the market. It's a separate app that incorporates into Maps.

I have it all too but I can't even find an icon for street view. Am I being a dumb red head again!?

Edit... having pressed the menu and looked through all of that (and joined Latitude which I have no real idea what its for and no-one else I know has it so bit pointless!) I finally resorted to long pressing the screen which gave me a pop up, find location and then my little man was there. Tapped on him and street view appeared. Don't remember having to do all that before but then didn't really use it much so I could have just forgotten!!

I can see the app listed under the applications. All of the buttons are grayed out. There is no way to uninstall it.
