Root struggling with hero after rooting..help

hi i rooted my htc hero a couple of days ago,and i thought it would be good idea to delete some stock apps that i didnt use then it all went wrong, couldnt recieve google mail or download from marketplace ( kept getting error messages) so i did a factory reset but wasnt right,so i decided to re-download the factory 2.1 rom from htc website ,it was going well until it stopped half way through saying usb not connected but it was, and has a white screen saying.

So the install process didn't start then? You should be ok to pull the battery.

Did you install google talk by any chance?
