Root Stuck downloading Facebook

The notifications bar shows downloading Facebook build and continuously does so. I have done everything from reboot to uninstalling Facebook and it still shows downloading. Anyone have an idea how to fix besides factory reset, hate to go through that again. Thx for help

Mine acted up today and used titanium to delete and then reinstall and all is good now!

Mine just started that today! I honestly thought you were crazy until this evening!

I've tried uninstalling/disabling all Facebook services, a full power down, and was just considering a factory reset. /sigh

Guess I need to figure out what "Titanium" is first!

It is an app! A must have, Had always had it since day one and would not regret ever getting it! Never use it for full backups or restoreing all data, but is great for this and that!

OK uninstapling and reinstalling did not work. Researched online and apparently Facebook has taken upon themselves to push an update outside of Play store wich is adirect violation of user agreement. The update will only be applied via wifi! This pisses me off that Facebook thinks that they can push there updates on people without a choice to accept or deny.

You can get rid of it all and access it through the internet instead of an app, No problem here for me though!

I was just 'forced' to do this same update on my n7.
(I don't run the fb app on my prevail because it constantly runs in the background, which is murder on my battery)

I agree its crap. The version I had actually worked. Their last few updates were terrible. However, this version isn't bad. It works about the same as the version I had installed. No serious issues so far, but being FORCED to update is a tad ridiculous. And all because it was 'no longer supported'. Funny because it seemed to work fine for me

I don't have access to wifi here and I have done everything I can think of to rid my phone of any traces of FB but yet I can't get this stupid notification to go away. I am seriously thinking of deleting my FB account just on principal but maybe that will clear it.

Have you tried wiping your cache?

Actually I don't remember? I was annoyed and had, still have, a headache. I guess I need to reinstall and go through wipe process to be sure? App will still link with cache from previous app install?

I think so. Give it a shot and let us know.

Edit- you could always look in /data/data/com.facebook.katana/ and see if there is still anything in the cache... or if the app data is even still there.

No I all ready checked. I uninstalled app using Titanium and I think it auto deletes that file. Not sure going to double check

Yea, I think titanium does delete the user data. :(

You could always wipe the whole cache then

Yeah the folder is gone so Titanium does do a full wipe upon uninstalling an app. Looks like I will have to try to wipe cache via TWRP. Give update in a min.

Update: no go. Damn notification was back before media scan was even done. I wonder how the hell they have it linked? Must be to device, obviously not to app. Not sure what to do at this point? Either wait till I can access wifi or system wipe?

Update: OK good news bad news. Good news I am a little slow but it dawned on me that I am running data mode KK 2.5 and was trying to view data files using root browser, problem being data is on sdext and you can't view those files, not sure why, with anything other than recovery (TWRP) file browser after mounting sdext. So I found the data files for facebook.katana. Titanium did not delete it, maybe cause it is on sdext?. Bad news even after deleting Facebook.katana download notification is still there. Now I really don't know what else to do except wait till tom when I can access wifi and complete update. Oh well Facebook can kiss my ***. Deleting acct just for waisting most of my day with this crap.
