Root Stuck in ClockworkMod Recovery

Used the "Boost Specific" recovery.img up until I had to get Superuser installed. Then I booted from shinru2004's Angry Walrus boot.img and successfully installed SuperUser. But now, I can't get out of the Clockwork Recovery.

When I "Reboot System Now" it asks me to "Fix Root (system/xbin/), then when I click "yes" or "no" it always boots me back into the Clockworkmod Recovery....

Any hints? Did I just brick my phone?

Soft-bricked it.

Did you do a nandroid backup? (You should every step of the way - back and try something. If that works, back it up and try something more, etc.) Then just restore the last good backup. (One of the two main reasons for installing CWM is making nandroid backups.)

If not, you'll have to look for other fixes.

I fixed this by reverting to 2013-07-19.01.57.24Stock_JB.rar - however, I'm not sure what the best approach is to root this thing. Its a HTC-ONE SV (BOOST) running Jelly Bean 4.1.2. I'm only rooting it because I want to be able to use my MiniSD card as storage for my apps...What would be the best approach for rooting? CWM? TWCWM? Do I need to worry about S-OFF?
