Root Stuck on boot animation. Rooted and have CWM

Hi guys. I've tried reading up on similar problems with the Esteem, but haven't found any method to work. I figured I'd ask for help here :/

So I'm stuck on the boot animation. My phone is rooted and is currently running the Number Two ROM on v2.8.1. I do have CWM installed. My problem right now is that I can't boot into CWM.

Here's what happened to get me stuck here. I'd recently updated my phone from the Number Two rom v2.5.4 to v.2.8.1 thinking an issue with my contacts would be fixed. After installing 2.8.1, the problem was no longer an issue so I began re-installing my apps. v2.8.1 came with a launcher I wasn't liking too much (Holo Launcher) and so I uninstalled it, thinking no harm would happen. In doing so, I got spammed with force closes. Only thing I could do was to force a reboot through the power button and after displaying the LG logo, it hasn't gotten out of the boot animation.

I figure that if i can get back into CWM, I can install the launcher that this ROM came with and perhaps this will fix the problem, but I've had no luck booting into CWM. I've tried holding the volume down key+power button, but it only boots up normally into the infinite boot animation. The only thing I've had come up is the screen asking me to factory reset, but I wanted to ask here first to see if there's another way to get past this. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well after about an hour of trying every button combo to get into CWM, I "fixed" the problem. I took out my battery and left it out for a while to see if it'd help. It didn't, but after leaving the boot animation running for a mins while searching Google, I was hearing the default notifications tones for texts and FB messages going off, leading me to think that despite the boot animation going on, my phone's services were running in the background. I called my phone from my home phone and voila.. the boot animation was forced out and I was able to take the call and thus boot into recovery.

Although I wasn't able to install that launcher using CWM, I simply wiped my data and re-flashed the ROM and was able to start over to fix this problem!

I had a similar situation/problem.....

Need to hold both Volume up/down at same time. Hold Power button, once it vibrates let go of power button.
