Stuck on boot logo

I unlocked the boot loader, twrp flashed, installed a zip file and upon installing the zip via recovery phone is now stuck on boot logo. =( Please help, I just wanted to try the root apps, and now I just want to play my zombie game and listen to music.. please, you my only hope.....
 
What zip file were you trying to flash? If you can provide a link that would help.

Did you take a full backup of your setup in TWRP before trying to install something else?

Don't panic yet, but I need some more info from you first.
 
Ah, ok I thought you were trying to install a new ROM. Both the version of TWRP and SuperSU from that site are out of date, and that version of TWRP has an issue in that means the phone's firmware version doesn't get reported on correctly in the bootloader or via fastboot command.

I would recommend that you flash the latest version of TWRP from here:

https://dl.twrp.me/m8/

and try again with the latest version of SuperSU that you can get from here:

https://download.chainfire.eu/921/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip

However, what I'm not sure about is what may have got messed up when you tried to flash the out-of-date zips. Before flashing any of the above I would try to force a restart by pressing and holding power + vol. up and see if that boots the phone first.
