Help Stuck on Lolipop Update

So I have a samsung galaxy s6 t mobile version and I'm not receiving any updates. Its already waaaay past the dates I should have received them but it just isn't happening. The model number matches that of a T-Mobile phone but I originally bought the phone from the company Rent a Center. I called T-Mobile support once to ask when I should be receiving the update and apparently the imei number doesn't even match that of their phones... So I'm at a dead end... I made that phone call months ago and just hoped things would work out. What should I do?
