Help Stuck on roaming?

Hey how's it going? So my signal strength is almost always one to two bars no matter where I go. I've been wanting a new battery and such overall and splurged and bought a new one. I bought this one Amazon.com: Hyperion HTC Droid Incredible 2 3500mAh Extended Battery (Also Compatible with the HTC Droid Incredible S): Cell Phones & Accessories

anyways, I've had no problems at all, but my signal is even worst than it originally was. I received the backdoor piece and it is on the entire way. I'm almost stuck always in roaming now and I've tried *228 more than once, option one and two. Any ideas? I'm currently running mini 11.23.00

The antenna for this phone is part of the back cover. If the tabs on the cover do not make good contact with the pads on the phone you will get poor reception.

There have been other posts from people having problems with extended battery covers. I don't recall which ones are the good ones though. Do a search in this forum. It shouldn't be hard to find other posts about this.

Awesome thanks a bunch, I'm sure that the tabs on the back are connected, but probably just barley. Probably a poor product. I'll call the company for a replacement, if not I'll just return it and purchase a new one from someone else, hyperion doesn't have the best reviews

If you're using an aftermarket battery door, your reception will suffer. I wouldn't worry about the bars reported, because I don't find them 100% accurate. If you aren't dropping calls (while using the stock battery door) then you don't have anything to worry about. And a replacement phone won't do any better while using an aftermarket door.

I understand what you're saying and I agree with you, but I'm saying I have 0 service whatsoever. Unless I am outside or by a window, I can barley get any service at all. I'm unable to connect at all and it switches between roaming and no service at all. When I turn airplane mode on, it usually lags, I might get some service for a good 2 seconds before it enters airplane mode and that's it.

That is the battery door. The one you bought has a horrible antenna, I know because I bought the same one. Go back to your old battery door. If you must have an extended battery,I would only buy an official replacement. There is little to nothing you can do to help your situation while you still have that battery door on.
