Help Stuck on white ***locked Screen***

So my HTC One X died so I left it on Charge, upon returning I turned it on for it to load to a white screen. I have tried to just select fastboot using the arrows and power button but for some reason the buttons are not responding correctly so I cannot select any options.

Does anyone know how to fix this as I have no way of using my phone.

Try holding the power button down for about 10-15 seconds and see if it resets.

tried that one, no such luck. left it to die then when i turned it on it worked but lost everything on it so starting from scratch
