Studying for my A+ Certification

Hey for the last couple of months I have been studying hard for my A+ certification, and I was wondering, how many of you guys have it? If you do have it how hard were the tests? And any good studying tips?

I have mine, was relatively easy, but I also took mine in 2000/2001 and never have to take it again (your will need to renew every 3 years).

I'm actually preparing for an industry certification myself, going for my ACMT (Apple Certified Mac Technician), have 1 of the 2 tests done, taking the second Thursday.

Buy a good A+ book, Cybex books are generally the ones I go for. Have a computer you can tear a part and build. As with most CompTIA exams they are multiple choice and I believe the A+ exam is 100 questions with a 70% or greater passing mark and a time limit of 90min. Check their site to be sure.

Every 3 years, ouch,oh well, that's something for future me to worry. As for book I've been reading this one: Amazon.com: CompTIA A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Seventh Edition (Exams 220-701 & 220-702) (9780071701334): Michael Meyers: Books and so far I love it.

Every 3 years isn't bad. New hardware, connectors, terms come out that you need to know about. Recertification just proves that you are keeping on top of it all. Besides, the A+ exam is about $200 CDN, very inexpensive. If you certify with other vendors like Cisco, Juniper, MS, etc. you'll have to re-cert as well.
