Stuttering - anything we can do about it?

I have the Tegra 3 version of the One X and I'm running the latest FW version (1.29.407.11). Coming form from an HTC Legend, the new phone felt blazing fast at first, but now the more I use it, the more I notice lags and stutters that are just unacceptable for a quad core phone. For example:

- lags when scrolling across homescreens; and I quickly add that I'm just using a static wallpaper from the pre installed collection
- stuttering weather animations in the weather app. It even froze a few times, leaving green squares on the screen.
- the app drawer seems to hesitate to open more often than not. It's less than a second, but it's there.
- when scrolling down in an email (default mail app) or on a webpage (default browser), it starts scrolling, then pauses, then resumes ... Or sometimes gets stuck there...

The Legend had its own share of problems but fixes were found such as turning on USB debugging, which improved its performance.

I refuse to accept this kind of lagginess when paying big money for a phone. Do you guys think there's hope this will be improved with FW updates, or is the Tegra 3 irreversibly flawed?

PS. As I'm typing this, the phone is getting super warm in my hands, and I notice the word suggestions hide half the top row of the keyboard when in landscape orientation... Grrreeat :-(

To be honest, I can't see HTC releasing a fix for it and that's how they want sense, someone over at XDA released a mod for rooted phones that flattens the 3D effect of the HTC widgets to stop the stuttering so I think HTC want it this way.

Although, they are releasing new firmwares pretty quickly at the moment so you never know.

It's actually annoyed me that much that I've installed Apex launcher which is super smooth.

Cheers mate!

I've downloaded Apex as well and configured it over the weekend. Pretty slick indeed. Well, it's quite similar to GO Launcher and Launcher Pro, which I also tried in the past, but I quite like the app drawer on this one with the stock theme, so I think I'll stick with it. Too bad I have to give up on the Sense widgets but hey, i wasn't using many of them anyway...

Now, that will keep me waiting until HTC finally get their act together and rid Sense of this trademark lagginess (here's to hoping! :-)
