This is not unusual in the SGSII and is widely reported on this forum. It is because of the phone's automatic battery calibration, which is why battery calibration app's on the Play Store are no good for this phone. It should settle down after a few charging cycles or you can re-calibrate yourself. See, here.

Seems to me you powered your phone off immediately prior.

Your battery will very often take a big hit if you reboot or switch off power, and will gradually creep up to the correct level once powered back up again.

Newest tech from Sammy... self charging battery. I want one of those... :D

Seriously... it happens when you get a sudden reboot (non-proper shutdown) of the phone. The battery reading gets screwed along the way so it just drops and then slowly creeps back up to the right level. Don't worry about the battery reading. The real problem might be if your phone is rebooting on its own for no reason...

Now that's a whole new set of issues...

Cheers

That is the problem. The phone kept rebooting for no reason.. every 30-60 mins. I then removed the SD card and it has not happened since then.
Is that a problem that comes together when the I apply the hack on a rooted phone with and SD card?
