Help Suddenly, I have a loose screen.....

I'm not too worried about it at the moment as I bought the devies from Currys PC World along with an extended warranty. But what happens next? Does it become progressively looser? Will it fall off? I'm just trying to work out if I need to be panicing (yet).

If by loose, you mean slightly raised on one side, mine has been that way since I got it in August, its sometimes looks worse, other times better, depending on temperature actually.

but it isnt getting any worse and doesnt effect the display in any way.

I just ignore it.

(3 out of the 7 Nexus 7s I have seen/used have had the problem.)

Phone Google and they'll send you a new one. They have sent me two replacements. One for an loose screen just after launch and then a few weeks ago I had a row of dead pixels. No discussion just a call, and immediate offer and a new device arrives in a few days. You send the old one back. Job done.

Seriously though, how DOES one call google?

Thanks all. I didn't buy it from Google Play so I doubt they will replace it. It seems very minor so I'll keep an eye on it and take it back to Currys if need be (I have up to two years to do this) . Fixing it myself would be a no no - the flip side of our fairly strong consumer laws is that taking it apart myself would invalidate the warranty.

In my case I simply lifted it up with my finger and dabbled a little glue under. Didn't have to take anything apart.

Yours may or may not be loose enough to do this with

The back pops off just like a battery cover does. I've read that sometimes the screws holding the screen on come loose and you can tighten them down.

Purchased mine in august, ran across a thread a week of so later. The op had stated his screen was loose in the mid left of the display. I looked closely at mine & noticed it was loose & could be pressed down. the screen would stick back down (it seems to be held down with double-sided tape) I tied tightening the screws that really did nothing to help in the long run.. after giving working with the screws a couple more times a try, I decided to shave off a small plastic tab on the rear cover that is directly behind the portion of the screen that's loose. that allowed the screen to stay stuck to the double sided tape. prob taken care of..
