Accessories Suggestions for a protective case?

Hi there everyone,

During my work, I deal with A BUNCH of dust and also manage to bump/press/hit the pocket in which I usually carry my phone often. To date, I've just set the phone in another room and checked it every once in a while for missed calls. For music, I use a separate mp3 player.

Then I found Audiogalaxy and the thought of not being able to listen to my library while working is putting me at risk of throwing the phone in my pocket and hoping for the best.

Now, I know that phone cases/screen protectors that allow you to use your phone will not protect it from real bumps. To be able to use the phone, you have to put the screen at risk. My need differs in that I don't really need to use the phone. I would be a-ok with starting up the music player, closing a hard case around the phone and if need be, open it up to use the phone inside if a call is received.

Does such a protective case exist? Currently, I'm looking around on Amazon at GPS and mp3 player cases, hoping to find something like a clamshell with a latching lid, but I've not found anything that closely matches the size and shape of the incredible. I would just need a single opening to pass the headphones line through. So far, all of the solutions I've found for the phone are rubberized socks and hardened screen protectors, not a real case of any kind.

Any thoughts you might have even if it's not actually an incredible case are welcome and greatly appreciated.

thanks,

I have an Otterbox to protect my phone from lots of bumps and jolts, and I like it a lot. However, the screen is only protected by the plastic scratch protector.

Thanks very much for the reply, travel girl. After waiting a week for my incredibly helpful forum companions to reply, I bought an otterbox case as well. It's open at the mousewheel, so I'm still considering purchasing a waterproof bag like the OverBoard, which integrates a headphone cord, so you can really seal the phone up well.

The only thing I'm still trying to figure out with the otterbox is whether the spotty look from the OB's hard plastic window coming in contact with the softer protective film underneath(the phone has one of those screen guards installed on it) bothers me enough to get rid of the protective screen and have two hard pieces of plastic rubbing together.

I was using the otterbox defender, the otterbox does offer better protection but I have never really been happy with the durability of the holster and the fit of the phone. I just recently broke the belt clip on the holster so I decided that while I wait for a replacement belt clip that I would just order a Seidio rugged case to give it a try, well I got it and now I am upset with myself that I didnt make this my first choice. The rugged case is very well designed and offers the ultimate protection that can be offered to a phone.
