Suggestions for My desire to Tinker

I am in the process of planning to tinker with making my own music videos. However I have a few issues.

1. I know nothing about how to do it.
2. I don't know which program I should use.
3. I want to be able to add lyrics to it

REQUIREMENTS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS.

1. All program suggestions must have a Linux version. I run OpenSUSE so an rpm installer is needed.

Any Tips must be in compliance with the program that I will ultimately use. Unless the tips are not program specific.

I'm a complete noob at this so keep it simple and in easy to understand language :)

Audacity and Openshot?
 
I found an app called Kdenlive that seems to be pretty easy to use. I haven't looked at openshot and audacity has been in my arsenal for some years now :) I haven't really messed with it a bunch today as well I didn't want to LOL but I may try to work on it some tonight. Not sure what kind of learning curve I will need with it to be able to do what I wish. I so far have found how to add pictures and reduce or increase display time for the viewing of each picture.

As far as sharing them I guess I will when I feel they are worthy enough for sharing :p
