Are there any transflective or similar android tablets? I need something I can read in direct sunlight...

Dunno about that stuff, but with Brightness Toggle Widget, I set my display at 25% fulltime, until I wind up in the sun, when I set it to 100%. That works fine for me.

What Jeff says basically. I have my settings set to auto brightness. When I go outside, the brightness goes up and I'm able to see the screen.

Many phones these days have great screen for outside. If you still want it not to reflect sun, there are always matte screen protectors. But this wil take away the brightness and colors.

Buy Sony T1, hacking and turn it into Android E-paper tablet. Reading all day in the sun...
