I have a Captivate with 2.2. ~ I want to root it trying the superoneclick root method. What precautions do I need to take ? I have probably over 200 apps installed & NO, I dont have them backed up ( I dont know how ~ yet ) Will I lose everything & then have to re~install it all again & im also afraid of my phone reverting back to 2.1 ?

I used super one click 1.9.5 for my root on stock 2.2, and had a bunch of pics and apps installed, and had no issues or lost data. You should be just fine! I would pull your pics, music, and vids off and backup your contacts prior, just in case though :)

I thought it was pretty dumb to not have a true backup system unless you root as well. In fact that was the main reason I did it.

I used Superoneclick to root 2.2. Rooting will not erase your data, your phone will not revert to 2.1. It was very simple, just connect, click root and you should have super user. Nothing lost.
