Superpad VI Problems

Felure

Lurker
Good morning. I need some urgent help with a problem I am having with this tablet. I purchased the superpad VI tablet off an ebay seller back in late November for a christmas present however it now no longer works. It stopped working about a month ago and have been pulling my hair out ever since.

The tablet itself will not switch on, AT ALL, it wont even charge the battery properly. I have tried the reset button as instructed and still nothing, I think it is completely phut to be honest as it has been a little tempermental since i bought it. I tried to contact the ebay seller however they have been forced to close by paypal apparently! and from what I can see from their feedback score, I am not the only person with problems as I recieved an auto reply email from ebay with instructions on what to do and how to contact the manufacturer directly. I have tried contacting the manufacturer directly as instructed but I am getting completely ignored they are wisecorp.cn. The reason I purchased from that specific seller was they stated they were a uk seller and any problems could be dealt with within the uk. I spoke to ebay and they said because it was outside the 45 specified days they couldn't open a new case and if I got nowhere with the manufacturer then to contact the police. I'm not sure what they will be able to do other than tell me to bugger off for wasting their time?

Has anyone else had these problems and/or can someone come up with any suggestions on what to do. I have threatened the manufacturer with the police and still nothing.

Many thanks in advance and warm regards

Perhaps they couldn't read your emails. I assume you can't speak Chinese. Then again they could be out of business, which is often the way with these things.

Nope, they're not in the UK that's for sure. Don't believe everything an Ebay vendor tells you. They're actually in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. AFAICT most of their products are counterfeit Apple iPhones and iPods, they probably do a nice line in Louis Vuitton handbags and Rolex watches as well...hmmm.

Don't think they'll be interested, either UK or Chinese police.

You probably can't do anything except perhaps continue pressing Ebay and Paypal for a refund. Did you pay using a Visa or Mastercard credit card? Maybe they can help, get a charge-back?

I think the lesson here is, in future buy tablets and other tech from reputable stores, like Best Buy, Currys, PC World, and similar.

Many thanks for your response
I dont think speaking chinese is the issue. The websites in english and most of their correspondence seems to be also.

I do know that they are still open for business, part of the website has a "chat now" which directs you to the import manager called jack. The ebay seller was based in the uk however their supplier is wisecorp.cn who I have been told to go to which is proving to be a pain the the bum, however it is interesting on your comment about rolex watches as they specifically state on their website they make and distribute them! I know your right about the police as well, I don't exactly know what they can do.

Ebay have said they can not do anything to help me any further and I paid via paypal but with my bank debit card so I am unsure if there is an insurance on that, but i doubt it, its something else to consider and will contact my bank later on. It is a little worrying though as it is plain to see on ebay this product is still being sold and I am sure I am not the only person being affected by it.

P.S I have just spoken to jack through msn via the website who has just informed me that he doesnt know what i should do and that it isnt his problem as i should be speaking to the supplier and not to him and he has now placed a block on me.........

Don't think they can do anything...Welcome to China!...where copyright infringement and intellectual property theft are a way of life.

Probably worth doing, but I think purchase protection is for credit cards only.

Ebay probably doesn't care, it's full of counterfeits and knock-offs. Perhaps should though, I think they're a United States based company.

I have read through some other posts that buy pressing certain keys when turning it on can re-boot back to factory settings? does anyone know the sequence?

p.s its ok i found the answer but its not working with that either.

My wife has taken the tablet into our local computer shop and he has said it needs flashing. I have no idea what this is or what it entails. Could someone give me a laymans term on what I need to do please?
many thanks

He thinks that the built-in software(what makes it an Android tablet) has become corrupted. He would need to find another copy of the software to load on to the tablet, to restore it to working condition. Often it's specific to a particular device, which means it would have to come from the manufacturer. Wisecorp.cn is just a distributor, not the manufacturer of your tablet.

So often these things are horridly thrown together, with little actual testing and QA. That's why they're so cheap, compared to say an Apple or Samsung tablet. Buggy and corrupted software is a common problem with them. Not so much of a problem when one is in China though, we just take it back and get another one. A few months ago I went through four MP4 players, all where defective.

BTW not all of the Chinese tablets are rubbish, if one buys one through a reputable UK retailer like PC World or Currys, they make sure what they sell works properly and provide support.
