Ok so i just traded in my Iphone for the new HTC Vivid. Well the text messaging is a little small for my not so good vision, so i went to download the "Bigger Font" app well when i tried to install it this message pops up
"Superuser access was not found on your phone, therefore this app will have to be closed. A ROM with Root is needed for font changer to work"

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANY OF THAT MEANS! lol help please

Rooting is basically similar to giving yourself administration privileges on a windows pc. Super user helps access those parts of your phone that were previously off limits to you, and allows apps that need access to those parts to gain that access. A rom would be a custom operating system that you can install on your phone. It would be like installing a different, custom version of windows on a pc. Hope that helps.

You do not need to root your phone to get larger font on your text messages. Just download Handcent from the market, it has an option to make the font larger without root access.
