Help [Support] Can ICS now read/write to external card normally?

I don't have a xoom at the moment but was thinking of getting one. What's the state of play with the SD card reading and writing at the moment after the ICS update?
Does it now work properly?

It always worked "properly" in the sense that it was a deliberate design limitation not a bug. I am running a 3rd party ROM so I cannot answer your question about the stock ROM but reading and writing to and from both the micro SDHC card and a flash disk attached to an OTG cable both work fine on the Tiamat ICS ROM.

I'm running a ROM also so can't test this to find out for you but here is a link to an app created to help this issue. When I first used the app it was free, but I see it is $1.49 now.

No need to pay! ES File Explorer is available from the market free and does the same thing and more!

P.S. applies to both stock and rooted ICS 4.0.3 versions
