I tried searching the site before asking, but for whatever reasons I came up short from the search (possibly because I am at work...filters and so forth).
I have switched to the SGS3 from the iPhone...
So, I am very new...
I had over 4000 songs on my iPhone from my iTunes account.
Is there a way to get that music to my droid?

Also...
I hear that downloading an App Killer or Task Killer is the wrong thing to do. What steps do I take to stop so many things from running and killing battery?

Thank you,
~B

GS3 has a built in task manager. Just hold down the home button for a couple seconds and you'll be able to "remove all" task and also enter Task Manager to clear out Ram.

Welcome to the dark side! One option for your library, and probably not the easiest solution but I'm so far removed from iTunes and Apple products that it's all I can think of, is the bring all your music into Windows Media Player and then sync that into Google Music. Again, not the easiest solution, but it should work.

As far as the task killer, there is no need for one in any Ice Cream Sandwich phone. In fact, some people say that installing one does more harm than good.

I hope this helps!

I am all Mac'd out...I do not have a Windows computer at all.
Hmmmm...
So, iTunes library cannot be moved directly to Google Music then?

Use Google Play Music Manager. It automatically uploads things added to iTunes to your Google Play cloud. You can tell it to upload only certain playlists, or everything.

https://play.google.com/music/listen?u=0#manager_pl

I will be sure to try that!!

Okay, then do I have to add Google Music to my Android? or is that App already installed and I just do not know it.
I am SO new...sorry!
I am still getting a feel for it all and do not know what half of these apps do. *laughs*

If you don't want to transition to cloud sync, you can also use DoubleTwist in the play store for an interface similar to iTunes for syncing your library. You would install DT on your Mac as well.

Play Music should be pre-installed on the device. It's the icon with the orange headphones. If it's not pre-installed you can download it free from the Play Store.

You then have to install Music Manager onto your PC and tell it to load any music you want onto Google's servers. Then your phone will sync with Google's servers and you can stream music or download directly to the device.

It's alot easier than it sounds...

Simple solution is do the itunes match and that makes all the music DRM free and you can then drag and drop the files onto the new phone. My music works fine and I'm Mac'd out as you stated it. :)

Be aware that apps that are constantly 'polling' the internet for updates are the ones that will drain your battery.

Example, email, gmail, play store, weather/facebook/twitter widgets etc ... in some or most cases you can tell these to sync either every 15 mins upto 12 hours or manually, the email app you can have an on/off peak setting so daytime its every 15 min and night its manual, or some such.

There are many reasons for high bettery drain, net apps are just a portion. Hardware components can contribute as well, like all the motion sensors, S-voice, face unlock etc ... so just spend some time getting used to what you need, and figure how to shortcut to other parts you dont need so often. :D

I installed isyncr for mac plus the wireless add on and it put my itunes library, playlists, etc on the phone with no problems.

However, you do not need to clear out RAM. Just becasue something is in RAM doesn't mean it is using battery.

Everyone please take a minute to read the link in my signature "RAM, Who Cares?"

Not to mention free RAM is wasted RAM ;)
