An Eris, eh? The big grin is because that was my first Android phone, about 50 or 60 years ago.
Kidding aside, apps and the services that run them have changed quite a bit since Froyo and other early Android operating system versions and the early, low powered devices they were made for. It'd be hard to use the modern Facebook app on an Eris, but you can try by halting as many unneeded background services that you can in Application Manager in the main menu.
How long ago did the Note get wet? Dry, uncooked rice draws the moisture out over night or better yet in 24 hours or so: just fill a big bowl with the rice and put the device right in the middle of it. The next day use rubbing alcohol to swab out every area you can get to. Have the battery cover off with the device in the bowl of rice, of course.
