Swaping android phones.

himmm

Newbie
I have Moto G 2nd gen with 4G LTE, Android Ver 6.

My wife has Nexus 5, Android Ver 6.0.1.

We obviously have our separate Gmail accounts with separate email addresses.

We would like to swap our phones.

How and what should we do?
1) To be able to transfer our Whatsapp messages, pictures and videos
2) SMS messages (We use Textra app)
3) Any other advice you may give us.

Since we use IMAP we will be able to load our emails.

Thank you so much.

Hi himmm, I moved your thread to the Android Lounge since it isn't device specific, and so more people will see it. :)

I think your carrier needs to swap out your sim cards for this to work

Yep. Factory reset the phones, swap the SIMs, trade, and log into your new phones with you own Google credentials. You can then install your apps from Play and set up your homescreens.

If you want to keep hold of your text messages (and whatsapp) .... ahh I just noticed that Kate has given an excellent answer... including the links...

Yes.. Thats's the way to do it...
