Sweat & HTC Wildfire S

I was speaking to a friend of mine last night which lasted for an hour. I then kept away my phone had my dinner and when was about to sleep I unlocked my phone screen and I find the display flicker with minute vertical lines from the left to right of the screen. It was black & white lines and my phone lost its own true screen colors.
I turned off my phone, pulled out the battery and found some wet patches behind the charging input (near battery). IT WAS SWEAT.
In past 2 years I never had this problem and I am amazed. I stay in New Delhi and you know how hot this place is in summers. Sweat is inevitable at 45 degree Celsius :smokingsomb:.
So I kept my phone over the table to get maximum air flow to dry the internal parts. Yes I pulled out my batter and back cover. In the morning I turned on the phone and after a few flickers its working fine.
My phone has drenched in the rain last season ad it didn't showed any flicker signs.. then why now?
Do I need to put some preventive thing to keep away the sweat?
Your views & suggestions are most welcome!

Perhaps when it got completely drenched, it dried out just fine and didn't wear anything out? Maybe being hit with water/sweat a second time just kind of "broke the camel's back", so to speak, although I really have no idea, haha.
